F1 2009 Malyasia: There's a storm a-brewin'

Kuala Lumpur: Evening Tropical Storms are likely

So we’re all still recovering from the Australian GP hangover and in only a few days F1 is back in action… in Malaysia. Will we see the “Brawn Supremacy” make a mockery of every team on the grid once more or will it be a very different story in Kuala Lumpur?

First things first, looking [...]

Button quietly confident '09 could be his year

Jenson Button: happy man and rightly so

Jenson had a cup of coffee on the beach this afternoon before starting the Australian Grand Prix and from listening to his podcast he sounds quietly confident that there’s more Melbourne style performances to come in ‘09.
And why not – Jenson has proven over the years that he’s a good driver and he’s well regarded [...]

Woking up to a New Season

mp4-24

Hamilton was gifted today’s result by a fluke set of circumstances and chance.  This is the general feeling towards the day’s action and opening title aspirations for the defending champion.  The thing is though; we couldn’t have expected more from the Woking squad’s season opener, considering their performance of late.
Starting from the back of the [...]

Piquet's playing in the sandpit again…and more Aussie GP reaction

Piquet - No bucket and spade

Poor old Piquet – yet again he’s ended a race prematurely in the gravel trap.
This really isn’t what Nelson needed after an iffy season last year.  He shouldn’t be making the same mistakes this year, especially all by himself.  It looked like the Brazillian just got a bit ‘freaked out’ at being so close to [...]

Pocket Money Issues: £50,000 fine for Vettel

A shock update to the Aussie GP result:
Trulli has been handed a 25 second penalty for overtaking Hamilton under the safety car which drops him to 14th position.  This means the troubled defending champion takes up 3rd place.
Vettel has been fined and handed a grid place penalty for causing the accident with Kubica.
Also Webber has [...]

Spare a thought for F1's unluckiest man

First corner chaos with Mark in the middle of it all

You know his name – Mark Webber, the Australian F1 driver who’s well respected throughout the paddock.  After a horrific accident in the winter it was an achievement that Mark lined up on the grid at all today.
So, after cryogenic treatment and an intense fitness regime, Mark Webber is fit for the F1 season opener, [...]

Jenson 'Buttons it up' – Australian Grand Prix Report

Number one again...

Jenson Button’s career has been “Brawn” again as he won the Australia Grand Prix, heading up a BrawnGP one-two with Rubens Barrichello.
It was a dramatic race, full of action and the perfect season opener for the all-new F1 of 2009.
The start would have been a tidy one if it wasn’t for Barrichello who seemed to [...]

Ya' Flamin' Galah! Toyotas Disqualified

And just when you thought it was safe to look; the FIA has already begun their rampant plague, mashing up the grid to bend to their infernal desires.  They must have known we would all be asleep, because waking up, recovering from an excessively long morning spent covering the qualifying, we find that the Toyotas [...]
