Posted by After the success of F1 2009 on the Nintendo Wii, PSP and iPhone, the brains behind it are now releasing the 2010 version, ready for the popular hardcore-gaming folk on XBOX, PC and PS3 – yep, it’s the first Formula One game to be in HD (high definition), which basically means the graphics are immense and near enough life like. The official unveilling is in London next week and a release date is slated for later this year in September, for now though here are some more trinkets of information and the first screenshots:

- The official game of the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship.
- Will include all of the official teams, drivers and circuits from the coming season.
- Including Michael Schumacher
- All the new teams
- And the new Korean circuit
- Variety of game modes: Grand Prix, Championship Time trial & Career
- Feature a highly advanced damage model
- Fully dynamic weather system
- Extensive competitive multiplayer options

I can’t wait to retire Grand Prix 4 once and for all! :-) I use the Vazalm 2008 and 2009 MODs with GP4 and they have breathed new life into an old game!
GP4!! Ahh it’s a classic and is a fave here at Badger HQ. From these screenshots F1 2010’s graphics just look too incredible. If it plays as well as it looks I doubt we’ll be the only ones retiring GP4 to the scrapbook…
Oooh i don’t know. EA and Sony played it safe with their previous F1 releases and made games that were accessible rather than realistic in order to appeal to more casual racers. Codemasters themselves have done a similar thing with their game ‘Grid’ which incidently has the worst handling of any driving game i’ve ever played.
So if you hear the quote “We aim to please a wide range of people, not just the F1 fans” (or something similar) at the launch, you won’t be consigning GP4 to history.
September? I was so looking forward to a Q2 release when I saw the headline…ah well only 6 months to wait :)

F1 CE is great but it’s horribly outdated.
I’ll have my sixty euros ready. Can’t wait!
It’ll probably require a nuclear-powered pc in order to have it going at an acceptable rate with non-grainy graphics, can’t really tell much from 2 pictures.
It’s not like it has stiff competition from anywhere since all the alternatives are mod’s for older games.
I’d quite like a nuclear powered PC. Still, mine is only 2 years and a bit old and I consider it quite modern.
I’m probably going to buy the PS3 version though.
God to be honest I am sick of waiting for these big titles. This game originally was meant to be beginning of 2010, GT5 is taking the piss as well, i think that was last year sometime, then xmas 09 and then march 2010 and no god only knows. For the next xbox and the PS4 they really need to work on making the games easier to code. whats the bet the 360 version of this game will be 1080p and multiplayer, but the PS3 version will be 720p and single player with multiplayer only available online.
on that note, can you guys find out about those two points. while you are there and if that will be the case can you ask codemasters why and then report back? would be greatly appreciated……
