Badger’s Buddies

There is a plethora of independent, fan driven Formula One websites sprawled across the interweb.  These are some of the rather brilliant ones that are well worth checking out.

  • The Runoff Area – one of very few truly hilarious and superbly written satirical Formula One websites.  The articles on here are so good that some actually think they are real.  With headlines such as “Hamilton to drive both McLarens” or “Hitler not impressed with Ecclestone” or “USF1 to compete electronically” are just some of the many highlights.
  • Making up the Numbers - a great blog by a chap known as Rubber Goat where he looks at the numbers and stats for all things F1.  A great read and insight into the F1 world
  • An F1 Blog – a new site to the scene, written solely by Jack Sargeant that brings us images, a good amount of f1 history as well as all the news from the F1 world.  There’s a new forum on there too, which worth checking out.
  • Team Hot Stuff - another new F1 blog which is beautifully designed and wonderfully chatty.
  • Motorsport Musings – the fab motorsport blog by Dan Cross, so well written it should be pro, it’s where he freely discusses just about anything motor racing related that he so chooses to.
  • Formula 1 Blog – a site bursting with talent from many different writers including some based in the US as well as the UK – this site never misses any news, no matter how big or small.  Worth a read
  • On any Sunday These Days – written by Badger guest writer, Victoria Reid – this site features both F1 and MotoGP news from across the pond in the US.  A great read.
  • Grand Prix Diary – from the writer of ITV’s Gravel Trap – this site often provides much hilarity
  • BlogF1 – one of the greats – it’s been running for over 5yrs now, all written by Ollie White, who’s a thoroughly nice chap.  His site has a certain brilliant authority and the articles on their never fail to satisfy the reader – great for new and veteran fans alike.
  • Formula 1 Fan Cast – a new site for the 2010 season, worth checking out.
  • F1Fanatic – the daddy of F1 blogs – run my Keith Collantine, who is now running the site full time and present at many motorsport events.  It’s all very factual and precise – a great souce of information
  • PitPass – another longterm F1 site, read by people in the industry – it’s often first with news, even if it’s not quite accurate.  A bit corporate but a good source of news
  • AutoSport – as close you’ll ever get to the official F1 news source – enough said.
  • F1.com – the official F1 site
  • Be Part of the Journey – a site run by Badger writer Ciaran Bodenham, concentrating on bridging gap between karts and single seaters – “A new direction in junior motorsports” – it’s a very exciting project, take a look.
  • Motorsport in Print – great f1 and other motorsport artwork by Luke Pollard – worth a gander and would make a great present for any motorsports fan
  • Action Art - superb motorsport artwork by Fran Richley, another excellent artist with a passion for all things motorsport

F1 Badger – as with all great things, would not have been possible without some great friends, people, supporters and other sources of inspiration.  So we would like to thank all those who have been and continue to be a part of Badger and help make the magic happen.

Colin Jones – the uncle and F1 enthusiast who inspired Adam Mills, the founder of F1 Badger to start writing and getting involved in the media side of all things F1 – without his encouragement none of this would have ever happened.

Richard Mosley, Ciaran Bodenham, Tessa Jones, Emma Ekins, James Weeks and Ben James – the Badger’s crack team of writers that make up F1 Badger and help make the site one of the best, most down-to-earth, chatty and accessible dedicated independent Formula One sites on the web.  Sure, it’s not very English to blow one’s trumpet, but we are all very proud of F1 Badger and all it stands for.

Also, those of you who have supported the Badger since the outset – Rosemary Le Feuvre, Jane Jones, Phil and Alison Jones, Rebecca and Luis Albornoz, Graham Mills, Crawford Walker, Catherine Greeff, Jon Nicholls, Alex Button, Dom Busher, Jam Gardner, Georg Holzer, Adrian Baines, Paul Carter, Kevin Hale, Ant Bradbury, Mark Stubbington, Stuart Kerr, Alice Ross, Sarah Ashton, Leonora Oppenheim, Sarah Armstrong, Sven Muendner, Octavia Lamb, Chris Rea, Naomi Kent, Andy Remfry, Sir Stirling Moss and all those I’ve missed off this list.

There are bound to be some very important people / sites we’ve missed from this page – if that’s the case, let us know by getting in touch...
