It’s time for part two of Badger’s look at pay drivers, with the best of the bunch under the microscope today. If you missed yesterday’s look at the worst ride buyers check that out here.
The teams that require pay drivers aren’t usually the type you’d expect to regularly achieve wins, podiums or even points. They’re [...]

Popular culture would have us believe that sixteen year-olds are surly, hormone driven monsters whose hobbies include defying their parents and getting bad haircuts because fashion dictates they must.
But that’s not true of all sixteen year-olds.
Take for example Nabil Jeffri, who is a sixteen year-old Malaysian racing driver. Like any budding F1 star he’s got [...]

Badger guest writer Matt Briggs is back for more, and having recently looked at the sport’s best and worst number two drivers he’s now delved in to the history of pay drivers. Like them or not they’ve been around since day one, and with teams shorter on cash nowadays they won’t be going anywhere any [...]

Yesterday’s Belgian Grand Prix could prove to be a significant turning point in this year’s world championship.
Because with Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, and Fernando Alonso all failing to score it could serve to turn the title battle in to a two horse race.
Lewis Hamilton now leads Mark Webber by an oh-so-slender 3 world championship points, [...]

Venezuela doesn’t have much of an F1 history, with just two drivers hailing from the South American nation having contested grand prix. The first was Ettore Chimeri, who competed in one race in 1960. He fancied more, but tragically lost his life in a sportscar race two weeks later. The other was Johnny Cecotto, a [...]

Guest writer Matthew Briggs has been musing on the topic of number two drivers in Formula One. Having dealt with the worst yesterday he’s now looking at the best, paying tribute to the finest wingmen this sport has seen.
There’s a no more thankless task than being the best at not being the best. With that [...]

Yesterday we looked at the likely moves in the driver market for Renault, Williams, Sauber and Hispania, whilst also putting forward Badger’s ideal line-ups for those teams. Today we’re focusing on the rest of the grid- Force India, Lotus and Virgin- as well as having a think about who’ll drive for the mysterious 13th team [...]

We think you’ll agree that ‘number two driver’ is a bit of an ugly term in F1. The fans don’t like knowing someone’s getting unequal treatment any more than a driver likes finding out they’ve become a number two.
But at Badger we don’t dodge the tough issues- or a chance to take a lighthearted look [...]

The 2010-2011 driver merry-go-round doesn’t look like being too exciting, at least not on the face of it. The top four teams in the constructors’ championship- Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes- will all remain unchanged next year, as will the F1 crèche known as Toro Rosso.
But that’s not to say there’s no fun to [...]

Robert Kubica. One of the most difficult races to pick so far this year. Alonso certainly isn’t worthy of it, Massa disqualified himself by moving over, Vettel went backwards from the start, Hamilton and Button weren’t particularly stellar and Webber carried a problem throughout much of the race.
We suppose, by default, it has to go [...]
