With the drama out of the way and apparently not as serious as first thought, the remaining drivers took a tentative line out of their garages. Rosberg continued his strong form from the previous sessions with purple and green highlighting the timing screens throughout the first half of the final session.

McLaren really are gunning for a great Hungarian grand prix with both drivers putting in superb laps to go 1-2 in second practice. New boy Alguersuari has completed over 80 laps in total to ensure he’s as prepared as possible for his F1 debut.

The first session of the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend saw ‘practice specialist’ (hardly a title to be proud of!) Nico Rosberg top the times until the final lap of Heikki Kovalainen who topped the time sheet and thereby further endorsing McLare’s claims that they can win this weekend. Hamilton was third fastest.
